Here is what the space looked like before I installed the cable trellis.  Think about how many vertical cables you want and how far apart they will be from one another.  I chose to have 3 cables at 12" apart.

I pre-drilled the holes for the eye hooks and spaced them 12" apart (note: pre-drill holes just smaller than the thickness of the threads).  Screw in the eye hooks by hand.

I used a plumb bob to mark the location of the bottom eye hooks.  If you don't own one, just use a level to make sure your cables will be straight up and down (also referred to as "plumb").

This shows all 3 cables looped through the top and bottom eye hooks, and fastened together with wire rope clips.  Be sure to get the right size hardware for the thickness of your cable (just ask the store guy or gal).  Once the trellis was installed, I wrapped the star jasmine around the cables with left over bread ties, or you can just use wire.  For heavier vines, I suggest you attach the ties to the cable first then to the vines.

Here is a close up of the vines wrapped around the trellis

Finally finished!  The cables and hardware will be barely visible as the star jasmine fills in.
